2010 Atlantic Hurricane Predictions (video)

Colorado State University’s  released their 2010 Atlantic hurricane season predictions and have upped the prediction from their original December forecast.

Information obtained through March 2010 indicates that the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season will have significantly more activity than the average 1950-2000 season. Ever Seen A Fire Damage Cleanup Project Performed?

smoke_01I have performed them, but had the great pleasure of watching my competition perform a fire damage cleanup project in a duplex of a friend.  The lack of detail and following of standards was absolutely amazing to me.

I watched a professional fire restoration company use a water based cleaner to clean the walls.  Water based stain removers will only encourage the stain to sink in father. Instead, they should have used chemical sponge to remove as much of the stain as possible.  There were so many process done incorrectly, that I was baffled that the homeowner hired them to do the job. Florida Insurance Information

bathrobeWith all of the property insurance rate information in the news, we thought it would be prudent to provide you with a couple of insurance details many Floridians may not be aware of.

With a lot of the major players either leaving Florida or non-renewing most policies, this leaves many Floridians to choose between under-capitalized start-ups and the state run Citizens.  If you are with a start-up, you may eventually have to become familiar with FIGA.  The Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA) is a non-profit organization that was created by Florida Legislature in 1970. The purpose of this organization is process claims of insurance companies that have gone belly-up, leaving your claim unpaid.    There has been some bad press about getting paid by FIGA, but I have no personal experience with them.  The best thing you could do is find out the insurance rating of your company.  The rating which has so far been proven to be the most accurate is TheStreet.com.
